# 096 Moonrise over Horsetooth Rock << In the foothills west of Fort Collins, CO >> Horsetooth Rock, a prominent landmark above Fort Collins, is a popular destination for hikers. It's a bit of a scramble, but you can get to the top without technical gear. Looking east you can see Horsetooth Reservoir below, the city of Fort Collins in the distance, and plains on the horizon. Looking off the backside you can see Redstone Canyon, from which this photo was taken, and Longs Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park.
