#133 Marmot on Chiquita – Looking West << Rocky Mountain National Park >> There is a trailhead on Old Fall River Road that allows climbing Chapin, Chiquita, and Ypsilon peaks in a single day. This photo was taken from the top of Chiquita looking West. This marmot is sunning himself on a crude wind break made by stacking rocks. Alhough this day was warm, sunny, and quiet, the weather atop these mountains can be severe. In the distance you can see Peterson Lake and the Never Summer Range. If you want to climb a mountain thats not too difficult and has great views, this is a good choice.
